Only hard work can create lightness, beauty and inspiration of the dance.
Fast moving summer is coming to an end and along with it warm days. Probably summer is the most important summer month. Everyone is coming back from vacations with new energy and ideas. It’s the time to think over and make plans for a new academic year. Many companies start actively planning events from autumn, although some still continue working all summer time. There are professions where work on your skill never stops, there are no holidays or days off. Our NEWS column is devoted to this.
In this column you will see photos made during the International Dance Workshop AVE BOHEMIA SUMMER in Prague as well as invitation to our next summer school.
This column is as usual devoted to the most interesting cultural events in Prague.
First of all we would like to pay your attention to a possibility of watching an opera remake “Don Giovanni” by W.A.Mozart. After a unqualified success of “Marriage of Figaro” in Prague, Mozart signs a contract for composing a new opera to State Theater in Prague. The first night of this opera was on October 29, 1787 and according to Mozart “was a total success”.
Nowadays you have a unique opportunity to visit the same theater where the first night took place in the end of the 18th century. Believe us due to accurate maintenance of building’s architecture, its layout State Theater preserved authentic till now. Genuine costumes, great opera singers, historical decorations and even the illumination which reproduces the 18thcentury. Every amateur of classical music has to visit this performance. You have time till August 23.
By the way, there’s a legend that Mozart was meeting Kasanova in Prague when he was writing this opera and he was Mozart’s adviser regarding Don Juan’s character.
There are professions where work on your skill never stops, there are no holidays or days off. Those who have devoted their lives to dance know this truth like no one else. Therefore, we have conducted our first international choreographic school AVE BOHEMIA SUMMER.
